barbara reflection

My job as the campaign manager was important because it was my job to inform the public about John McCain's history. It was also my responsibility for the total outcome of the campaign. The most vital part of my job was to write a biography about John McCain. It was important to cooperate with my team so that we could get everything done. We needed to work together and we did by sharing information about our candidate. I learned five new things with my group about the role of president they are, that you should be very experienced or else no one will vote for you, it helps to have a good family back round, the president passes all bills before they become law, a good way to find out about the election is to listen to the debates, and you can find a lot of information about a candidate at their website. These things are important to know for when I become old enough to vote and want information on the candidates.

If I was to describe this project to someone I would say that we picked one of the presidential candidate from this year's election (John McCain or Barack Obama) and got into groups from there. Next we chose a job that we were to fulfil either the campaign manager, the speech writer, or the policy writer. After that during our computer lab time we were to work with our group to do our different jobs. The different jobs and what you are supposed for the different jobs are listed in the packet that our teacher gave us at the beginning of the project. After we completed our job and posted it on Blogger we were supposed to write a reflection on what we learned. Once all of that is done the project id finished. I think that this project will make me a better voter because it taught me to look up information on the different candidates you are considering voting for. I now know that most presidential candidates have websites that tell all about themselves, their policies, their back rounds, and the issues that they are concerned about. These websites are a great place to learn about different candidates.

Presidential Campaign Reflection

My role was important in the overall campaign of the candidate, Barack Obama, because I named some of the important issues that he stands on and what he will do about them. This is important because it tells voters what the candidate stands on so they can choose if they agree with him or not. The most vital part of my job was to make sure I had the correct information. It was necessary to coordinate and cooperate with my team members because we needed to work together to make sure our campaign was the best it could be. For example, I had to coordinate with the speechwriter so she could get information on the issues Barack Obama stands on, to create her speech. Coordinating and cooperating with my team was accomplished by listening to each others' ideas for our campaign and putting them into thought. We also helped each other when they needed help.
The five things that I learned about the role of president during this project that I didn't already know are:
1:The president really has to know what he or she is doing to make the right choices for our country. This is important to know because when you are old enough to vote, you can choose the person who you think is really making the right choices, not the just the person whom your parents and relatives have voted for in the past.
2:The president has to put the more urgent and important issues first before the less important ones. This is important to know because when you vote, you want to choose the person who puts the issues that are most important for the country first.
3:The president has to be aware of the problems that the american people face, in order to make the right choices. This is important because what the president does to help the country should help the americans, not hurt them.
4:A person running for president has to give a convincing speech that tells the truth about the issues that he or she stands on and what he or she is going to do to improve the country. This is important, because it attracts voters and tells them all they need to know about the candidate in order to choose who to vote for.
5: The president has to always do and stand on what they believe and what they think is right for the nation. This is important because the president can't do what they don't think is right. They need to always do what they think is right.

I would describe this project to someone outside of school by explaining that we are creating our own little presidential campaign teams to help us vote when we are old enough. I would say that this project helps us to find out what the candidates believe in and to decide who we think would make a better leader for America. I think this project will make me a better voter when I'm an adult because it helps me to understand how to research what a candidate believes in and to choose who I think is right for the country.

abby reflection

My job as speech writer is important because with out a speech writer John McCain would be really busy during the elections. The speech writer is like an extra helper. The most important part of my job was to make the speech in his words and from his point of view.If I didn't do that McCain would look pretty weird standing up there saying John McCain promises a better future, when he is John McCain. I needed to work with my team because it is a way to check that all the information is congruent or related. We accomplished this by checking in with each other and sharing information. I learned that when your president you have to be in charge of all the political and governmental documents. You also need to persuade others that you are right for the country without necessarily bringing down the other candidate. You also have a speech writer, if you run for president you don't write your own speech. You must address big issues and prove you can work for them. These are good to know because it explains the role and the responsibilitys. If I described this project to someone outside the school as a very political project, it is a hard project but it's impotent to know. This project will influence my voting when I'm older because I will be able to identity big issues and learn about the candidates.

Reflection by Courtney

How was my role important in the overall campaign of the candidate? My role was important in the overall campaign of the candidate because I was the manager of everyone in my group. Also, since I was the Campaign Manager I had to right a biography and it let the people of America know what I do in my every day life. What was the most vital part of my job? The most vital part part of my job was that I had to organize the whole campaign for Barack Obama. This was important because without the campaign, the people would have no way of know what I would do as president and what I will change. Was it necessary to coordinate and cooperate with my team members? Why? How was this accomplished? Yes, of course it was necessary to cooperate and coordinate ideas with my group because if we didn't talk and figure out which person would do what we would all be doing the same things. This was accomplished by everyone getting along, and also because we took time to figure things out and we asked other members questions when we didn't no what to do.

What five things did you learn about the role of President during this project that you did not already know? Why are these five things important to know? The five things that I learned was that as the role of president you have to be aware of everything that is happening in the country, United States of America. Also, I learned that even though the White House as a bowling alley, movie theatre, pool, etc. the president does not have any time to use any of that stuff, it is mainly for his family. Another thing I learned is that president can be black, there just hasn't been one before, this is important because that gives many more people, especially black people, the chance to run for president knowing that they won't be the first one. Another is that this year a female person, Hillary Clinton, ran for president and it gives females a lot more of a chance to run and actually compete in the presidential race. Finally, I learned that many people care and watch the debates to listen to what the peopole are going to do as president.

How would you describe this project to someone outside of this school? I would describe this project to someone outside of school by saying that there were three jobs that had to talk about either John McCain or Barack Obama, Campaign Manager, Speech Writer, and Policy Writer. I would ssay that the Campaign manager had to write a biography about there candidate. The Speech Writer had to write the opening speech for the candidate. Finally, the Policy Writer had to write speech telling everybody about the policies the candidate had. Then I would say that we had to write a reflection telling about what we learned, etc.

Every Candidate has a stand on the issues. If you don't know where John McCain stands, here it is. On Economy, he is going to help small businesses create millions of new jobs by keeping taxes low on small business so everyone that can work will have a job. Small businesses provide the majority of the jobs in America. He is going to give low tax rates so more people will have jobs. John McCain wants to lower tax rates, because with gas this expensive these days, its hard to pay taxes. Even though he is going to make sure every one has a job. They can work anywhere. From home to your actual office. He is going to support small businesses. Not your child's lemonade stands, but businesses that have a license.

For your children's education John McCain says there is nothing better than a good education. He will fight for every kid to have an education. John McCain thinks that the schools should interview the best people they can find for their students. He thinks that children should be able to go to any school they want as long as they pass the test and pay.

Where John McCain stands on health care is that it should be available to anyone who needs it.He gives 2,500 dollars to individuals and 5,000 to families to offset the cost of insurance. He won't tax because It is hard to pay for seriously hurt patients.

John McCain thinks that people should not build plants anywhere except scientifically sound places. If there where an explosion then people could get seriously hurt and would might even die if there were toxic fumes. No one except the workers would ever be there. He thinks that they should develop a trade system and work it out. We have to spur the development and advanced technology.

For technology, he encourages investment for inovation. he is going to develope a skilled working force and have fair trade. He is going to reform property protection. John McCain wants to keep The Internet free of unnesecary regulation. He will ensure fully conected citizentry.
